Annisquam – a small village on Cape Ann in Gloucester tucked in between Ipswich Bay and Lobster Cove.
A mecca for artists of all disciplines, Cape Ann includes Gloucester, Rockport, Manchester-by-the-Sea and Essex. Margaret Fitzhugh Browne is well-known for her portraits of Annisquam residents and a beloved postman. A number of these portraits are on display in the Village Hall in Annisquam.
Annual summer theater productions by the Annisquam Village Players draws cast members from Annisquam and other communities.
SeaFair is an old fashioned community afaire with something for everyone- young, old and in between. Waxworks is a vital part of SeaFair, Annisquam’s answer to Madame Tussand’s Waxworks. The cast is drawn from the community.

The Norton Farm property was the home of Peggy and Dorothy Norton, members of the Folly Cove Designers https://www.capeannmuseum.org/collections/folly-cove-designers/ and a neighbor to Louise Kenyon also a member. The Cape Ann Museum has an extensive collection of the work of the Folly Cove Designers on display. I am fortunate to be in Dorothy Norton’s home surrounded by this amazingly creative community.
